Are you currently accepting new clients?Yes! However, not for long, because my schedule is filling quickly. If you are an Utah resident, click on here to be taken to my calendar and schedule a free consultation, or jump right in with your first session! If you are not an Utah resident, I still have options for working with you through my LDS & LGBTQ+ Course. Feel free to book a consultation call to discuss this option further, or learn more about the coure here.
Do you take my insurance?Unfortunately at the moment I am not able to bill any insurance companies directly, and so all clients must pay out of pocket. However, many insurance companies (as well as some HSA and FSA) will provide an out-of-network reimbursement for mental health services. Contact your insurance provider for more information.
What areas do you specialize in?I am probably best known for my work with the LDS & LGBTQ+ population, and love helping people navigate that intersection. However I have also worked with a wide variety of other concerns, particularly pornography use reduction, spiritual transitions, and general anxiety and depression. I work most often with older teenagers and young adults, but have clients of all ages.
What education/training do you have?I received my Masters of Social Work from USC in 2020, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Utah (lic # 11833516-3501). I am trained in many therapy modalities, including EMDR, CBT, and ACT, which I use in combination to provide a unique and customized therapy treatment.
How can I learn more about you and your work? The most important predictor of success in a therapy setting is a good relationship between client and therapist. So feel free to check out my social media accounts — @tjcounseling — to get an idea of my personality and how I work. You can also listen to my podcast Therapy Thursday! This can help you get to know me a bit better and see if I would be the right fit for you. You can also always schedule a free consultation call here.
If you have questions about getting started with therapy, the LDS & LGBTQ+ course, or any other concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out! Most messages will receive a response the same day.
